Stanley “Jim” Swiech, age 60 of Covington, KY passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014. Jim was born in Brantford, Ontario on June 18, 1953 to Stanley and Jean. He graduated from Queen’s University at Kingston with a degree in Engineering Physics. He went on to work in nuclear physics, oil and gas exploration throughout Africa and the Middle East, and in the pulp and paper industry. His work allowed him to travel the world, visiting six continents, and teach classes in several different languages. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Shirley on January 21, 1978; they were married 36 years. SERVICES 6PM Wednesday, January 22nd at the Allison & Rose Funeral Home, 5645 Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY. INTERMENT will occur at a later date in Simcoe, Ontario. VISITATION 4 PM until 5:45 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. MEMORIALS, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Hospice of Saint Elizabeth, 438 South Loop Road, Edgewood, KY 41017. He is survived by his: wife- Shirley Trinder Swiech; sons-Michael J. Swiech, Louisville, KY and Jeffery W. (Jen) Swiech Sylvania, OH; daughter-Kimberly A. (Bill) Gregory, West Chester, OH; grandchidlen-Henry Swiech, Amelia Swiech and Eliza Gregory; mother-Jean Mackenzie Swiech, Waterford, Ontario; brother-Tom (Noreen) Swiech, Waterford, Ontario; sister-Val Searles, Waterford, Onario. He is preceded in death by his father, Stanley Swiech.
