Though greatly delayed by the Pandemic, the family of Robert Newell Owens wishes to acknowledge the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and sibling on March 24, 2020 at his home in Foster, KY Rob was born July 22, 1954 the fourth child of Ross Collins Owens, Jr and Edythe Marie (Newkirk) Owen who both predeceased him . After graduating from Dixie Heights High School in 1971 Rob studied accounting at Northen Kentucky University. He was a lifelong member of Madison Avenue Christian Church in Covington, KY, where he served as a Sunday School teaher, Choir member, Homeless Dinner Volunteer, Deacon, Elder and Board Member until moving to Foster, KY a few years ago. He and Ross were also faithful attendees at the Ft. Mitchell Baptst Church Men's Prayer Group. Rob worked as the Kenton County KY Housing Inspector, Disaster Relief Service Coodinator, Occupational Licensing Director, and in other county possitions for thirty years before his retirement. Using his accounting skills he developed an accounting practice on the side. After Ross's retirement. Rob took over hundreds of Ross's clients,, completing their taxes as well as providing advice on finances and investments. During that time he helped save many small businesses from failing, all the while following Ross's example of charging little for his services. Rob and his wife Jody spent the few short years after his retirement living on the Ohio River where they greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, both old and new. Rob was known as the "family glue," sending cards and texts to family member on birthdays and holidays. Everyone counted on Rob to keep in touch with everone and pass on family news. Rob is suvived by his wife Jody Meyer Owens, childredn Jim Ownes, Joe Owens, Cadie (Brenman) Sweeney and Kyle Warning, sisters Barbara (Richard) Hite and Brenda (Leonard) Anthony, brother Ross C. "Col" (Milly) Owens III, five grandchildrend, seven nieces and nephews and many cousins, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, all of whom miss him dearly.
