RICHARD LEE HUDSON, 79, of Walton, passed into rest on Monday March 17, 2014 at St. Elizabeth South in Edgewood, KY. He was preceded in death by his father, George Marshall Hudson, and his mother, Marguerite Lee Hudson (nee Murphy). He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Ann Hudson (nee Landrum); sons, Richard Lee Hudson II (Tina) of Lawrenceburg, IN, and Timothy Kirk Hudson (Brenda) of Bellevue, KY; daughters, Karen Lynn Emerson (Dave) of Waldron, IN, and Susan Ann Scherrer of Alexandria, KY. He has 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Richard was the Chief of Police for Walton, KY for 13 years, Lt. Col. (Ret.) US Army Corps of Engineers, a 53 year member of Covington Masonic Lodge 109, Shriner’s, and a Vietnam Veteran. He graduated from Holmes High School in 1952 and went on to UK to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and then to Arizona State University to earn his Master’s Degree in Facilities Engineering. His hobbies included working on crossword puzzles, restoring his 1938 Ford, and spending time with his grandchildren, 2 favorite dogs (Tinkerbell and Mollie) and his loving wife. He will be missed dearly by many and all who knew him. VISITATION will be from 4-8 PM Friday at Allison-Rose Funeral Home, Robbins Street and Madison Avenue, Covington, KY, MASONIC SERVICES 7:45PM Friday. FUNERAL SERVICES 10AM Saturday, March 22nd at the funeral home. MILITARY HONORS and BURIAL Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY.
