Betty Lee Nordheim- Born Dec. 6, 1929 Died March 2, 2012. Betty Lee was a lifelong resident of Cvington, KY. The only child of Lee and Elizabeth Nordheim, she lived most of her life in a home orginally built by her grandparents. Betty Lee graduated from Holmes High School in 1947 and received degrees from Eastern Kentucky University and Xavier University. She worked for Loshin’s Costume Center as a sales manager and traveling representative and also for Mabley and Carew as a buyer, but her joy was teaching art. Betty Lee taught 25 Years for the Covington School System, most of those years at Holmes High School. After retirement, Betty Lee developed and coordinated the Fine Arts Enrichment Progran for the Covington School System of which the focal point was the Nordheim Art Gallery. Bett Lee was an avid world traveler, including, Egypt and Peru. In 2002 she published “Echoes of the Past”, a history of the public education system of Covington from 1825-2002. Betty Lee was a very active Board Member of the Behringer-Crawford Museum and became an Emeritus Board Member. A graveside service will he held at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, OH Wednesday March 9 at 11:00. Memorials are suggested to the Nordheim Art Gallery at Holmes HIgh School or the Behringer-Crawford Museum, Covington, KY. Allison & Rose Funeral Home Covington, Ky in charge of arrangement.
